Keeping up in this new generative mega-multi-meta-DAO-verse makes it hard to quantum all that spatial neural netting. You down with GPT? Ya, you know me. That's why I package up a small part of the internet that catches my eye, percolates my thoughts, stirs my mind and share it with you from time to time.

📢 Message from the Management
Woot! Woot!
Long weekend styles. Thought I would send The Goods out with a little bit of a delay function. Let’s see if the long weekend late send helps relax you into a deep dive.
So, I launched the public version of this email newsletter and the Time Well Spent of YouTube series over on the Haus of Linked Inn. Not much vacancy these days, but managed to squeeze in. If you’re not following me on LinkedIn, what are we even doing here? ;)
Make good choices. https://linkedin.com/in/iamkhayyam
So, as a result of this I am expanding my infamous Discord ‘rants’ into this newsletter as I respond to each article as an experiment. Finding inspiration to write about what I know is hopeless, for I cover a great expanse and couldn’t imagine writing on such technically boring subjects. And now, now I have a place where I can practice being an old man yelling at the rain. It’s practice to forcefully write and start to recall the neurons that used to fire when something that provides such joy from something I’m so good at. I’m really good at finding the holes that are patched up and no one wants you to see. So, I’m going to do that. I’m good at helping folks look at problems with advantageous and profitable insights.
For non-subscribers, you will receive the basic/vanilla version that you will/can receive on LinkedIn if you’ve clicked the link above and we’re connected before tomorrow - lol - or any Tuesday for delivery over there. However, once you subscribe here with your good old-fashioned email, you’ll get these insights and contrasts to most of the big claims that these big shots claiming their claims claim every Monday. That’s it, Monday. Nothing else to think about other than, “How did Khayyam find these discoveries a month before everyone else? He must be in the know.” And now you know. Bell Biv Devoe.
With the help of a fellow Jumper (a Jumper is someone that is a member of JUMP — if you don’t know, now you know. Link below.) I’ve been made aware of how complex of an automation process I’ve created over the years to be able to read and curate all this stuff.
This past week, I’ve had at least a dozen people reach out as to how I make these newsletters and most importantly, how I’m able to find such a good selection. Well, I’m going to spill the beans soon. Slowly, slowly, we’re inching towards it. Sneak peek at the end of the newsletter! 👀
In the interim, if you’re a Fortune 1000 brand you should be participating, contributing, and getting the alpha on the future technologies and utilities and how you may employ them in your creative and revenue-driven endeavors in this brave new world of marketing and attention 👁
—> JUMP into a brand new world! <
Had a deep thought the other day, “Why do we need to exact revenge? Couldn’t we just estimate it?” 🥁
Right? Riiiii’iiiight? Please let me know if you found the extra content in this week’s newsletter ie. helpful / insightful / useless / useful / awesome / meh, in the comments below. You can say it’s shite, it won’t hurt my feelings.
Besides, it’s a great day to make it a great day!
Loyally,
Your friendly neighborhood, Khayyam 🌶

KHAYYAM’S HOT TAKE

What do four white dudes have in common? There’s a fifth one that should be in here, but guess we’ll have to work with this unfantastic four. Although these big tech moguls have ambitious visions for the future, it is critical to be aware of the risks and obstacles linked to these projects and ask whether we are included in them or shielded from them. They all have bunkers. Do you?
The propaganda for AI going replace human labor has raised worries about its effects on employment and the economy, but don’t worry; AI won’t take your job, someone who knows how to use AI will take your job. This is one of the dumbest statements that I continually hear on repeat. Did anyone go around telling us that calculators were going to take our job? And then told only people who knew how to use calculators would take our job. Digital cameras aren’t going to take your job, people with digital cameras will take your job. I get it, we all need a slogan to get behind. Plus, lots of white folks weighing in with heavy voting power. Might want to have some diversity to speak to the diverse folks on this tiny little globe and mandatory ethics departments in companies operating above a certain threshold. The large-scale replacement of human labor by AI will add to the accumulating mass unemployment and exacerbate inequality. Such a shift must be substantiated with well-thought-out plans to mitigate the social and economic consequences.
And this concept of a virtual world (web3) and cryptocurrency raises big red flags in my world, not because it’s bad, only because the privacy, security, and the potential for increased surveillance is. By the way, isn’t Elon about to start collection our job history and biometric data right about now? As these technologies become more prevalent, the concentration of power and control in the hands of a few tech giants (nerds) could lead to a less transparent and accountable system. It’s of paramount importance to ensure that the benefits of these advancements are balanced with safeguards to protect individual rights and prevent abuse of power and memes. Point of note, you can’t self appoint yourself as a Memelord. It has to be bestowed. For reference of appointment, please see George Constanza aka “T-Bone” somewhere in the Seinfeld catalog.
Furthermore, the idea of Mars colonization and transhumanism raises enormous ethical questions and concerns about resource allocation. Why not mend what we have left of what we’ve got instead of setting on a mission that we won’t be able to complete by the time this planet is depleted. Chicken and egg problem. No, Black Swan event kind of problem. But we won’t know about that until we’ve seen a black swan. 🦢 Nothing to see here.
Okay, back to investing substantial public funds into space ventures risks diverting resources and focus away from vital concerns here on Earth, including poverty, climate change, and healthcare. NBD. Our society should focus on meeting its immediate needs before pursuing grand projects for the benefit of a limited few. Hopefully, we’ll have our answer white right on time.
The Token Wisdom found here is that although the futuristic ideas of wealthy tech entrepreneurs may seem thrilling, it is important to be careful and think about the possible dangers and difficulties that these advancements might bring. The need for accountability and responsible decision-making becomes even more crucial as technology continues to shape our world. Everyone gets their own personal blackbox that will be open for review, if deemed necessary.

Let’s ponder idea of AI and humans working together efficiently, is there any concern that AI will ultimately replace human workers? AI can automate some tasks and jobs, however, its limitations are clear when compared to the virtually limitless capabilities of humans. However, we can’t do one task impeccably twenty-four hours of the day, around the clock. They got us there, sleep and all.
Humans have creativity and innovation that AI lacks. Human-made strategies stand apart due to their ability to think critically (something the masses are losing a grasp of), solve complex problems (kids out of high school cannot even complete long division), and generate new ideas (but execute on them). This level of cognitive processing is not yet developed in AI, which primarily relies on data analysis and decision-making based on established patterns and algorithms. Thus, humans will continue to be sought after for their distinct perspectives and creative flair. The combination, however, out of this world! The sooner you can integrate it into your workflow or process, the sooner you’ll realize how much of a superhero with some serious abilities you have.
AI can improve human productivity and efficiency by taking on mundane, repetitive tasks, allowing humans to focus on more important, strategic activities. This can lead to increased job satisfaction and allow humans to utilize their skills in a more meaningful way. However, some learning and adaptation is needed, not much.
Besides, AI systems require human oversight and maintenance. They’ll need to be trained, monitored, and updated by human ‘experts’ — remember Apple Geniuses? Something like that, but different. It does create a demand for new roles and job opportunities in the field of AI, such as AI trainers, data analysts, AI ethicists, and approver-of-AI-decisions specialist. This way, instead of replacing humans, AI can just create new avenues for employment and career growth. Pretty sure they have a gold star and blue ribbon making robot.
Where is the Token Wisdom in this? Although there are worries about how AI will affect work in the future, we have to acknowledge that AI and humans can collaborate effectively. There is undeniable accuracy and truth in that statement. By utilizing the strengths of both AI and humans, we can build a future where we coexist and flourish. It is essential to approach the integration of AI into the workforce with careful planning and thoughtfulness, ensuring that folks have the skills required to fully utilize AI technology. Now you know why the ying and yang symbols are inverted. Two pieces of the whole.

KHAYYAM’S HOT TAKE

“Well hello, Upper East Side. Apparently we’re slumming it in Williamsburg to attend a Chanel pop-up… diner? Oh hell no. Where is Serena? Where is Serena? Siri. Call Serena van der Woodsen.”
Once hipster capital Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is known for its vibrant local culture and independent businesses. By hosting a high-end event in this neighborhood, it could potentially push out small businesses and disrupt the authenticity and diversity that the area is known for.
While the idea of Chanel taking over a local restaurant to celebrate their latest fragrance and opening of a boutique is exciting and enticing, let’s look at first things first, Gossip Girl ended a long time ago and the reboot should never been anything more than a slip-on. Next, the takeover of a local restaurant by a luxury brand like Chanel may will contribute to furthering gentrification in the area, how much more can Williamsburg endure? Did you know that the four wealthiest companies in France are luxury goods? 80% of the top five businesses in all of the country, of all the enterprises. Astounding.
The concept of a pop-up diner serving traditional treats and snacks may seem appealing, but it could be seen as a superficial attempt to capitalize on nostalgia and trends. While it may attract attention and create a temporary buzz, it is essential to question the long-term impact and sustainability of such a venture. I love pop-ups and immersive engagements, but there is a limit to how you try and will nostalgia into the world. It takes a skillful creative team to execute this gracefully.
The saying "the best things in life are free" is not always true. While attending the event may be free, luxury brand Chanel sells expensive items. Free to attend, however sold out for you. The intention behind such an event is ultimately to promote their latest fragrance and drive sales into new demographics. It is crucial to approach this event with a critical eye and consider the underlying motives behind it, that’s what Chanel is doing after all, testing for threats, opportunities, and vulnerabilities. Or in marketing terms, licensing, opportunities, and annualized contract renewals ;)
Can you smell that? Chanel be cookin’ up something with a side of Token Wisdom with the idea of taking over a local restaurant for a weekend event. May seem exciting, but extremely important to look at the impact and repercussions of allowing such testi’fication to go on. While being on brand is important, it’s equally important to critically evaluate the potential consequences, such as contributing to gentrification and the superficial nature of the event. And bottom line, it’s imperative to be a little suspect of the underlying motives of the luxury brand rolling into Williamsburg and not be swayed solely by the allure of a free event. Trust is earned over a long period of time and often lost in a moment.
“Tread lightly, Chanel No.5, you might just be No.2 if this doesn’t flush well with the public.”
xoxo

Inside Job: The Unraveling of the Biggest Bank Heist in History
Dive into the intriguing tale of the world’s largest bank heist, a meticulously planned inside job in Iraq that pilfered a staggereing $2.5 billion, exposing the deep-rooted corruption within the nation’s financial and political systems.
I was actually blown away by this story and how this story was told. Bravo for some great investigative reporting. Pretty sure ChatGPT didn’t have anything to do with this. It was like a super complex jigsaw puzzle. Each piece, representing a person or event, fits together to reveal the bigger picture of corruption, greed, and power. This is some Hollywood stuff, but like, real life.

Token Wisdom
As we wrap up this edition of Token Wisdom, it's clear that we're living in an era of rapid technological evolution, where the lines between reality and the digital world are increasingly blurred.
The tech titans are indeed shaping our future, but it's crucial that we don't lose sight of the potential risks and challenges that come with these advancements. While the allure of AI-infused backpacks and AI in gaming is undoubtedly captivating, we must remember to question the practicality of these innovations and their implications on our privacy and way of life.
The same goes for the rise of 5G in transportation and the potential of solar-powered trucks. These developments are exciting, but we need to ensure they're sustainable and beneficial for all, not just a privileged few.
And let's not forget about the workers at Walt Disney Pictures pushing for unionization.
It's a reminder that even in the most technologically advanced industries, human rights and fair compensation should never be sidelined.
So, here's a piece of Token Wisdom for you: In this brave new world of tech and innovation, it's not just about staying ahead of the curve, it's about ensuring that the curve doesn't leave anyone behind.
As we navigate this complex landscape, let's strive to balance progress with inclusivity, and innovation with responsibility. Until next time, keep questioning, keep exploring, and most importantly, keep seeking wisdom.
